Arabic letters not connecting in Unity

TextMeshPro and Unity's older UI Text do not join Arabic letters or order them right to left on their own. Letters appear separately and the line reads in the wrong direction.

TextMeshPro Arabic text can also show as empty boxes because its default font has no Arabic letters. English words and numbers inside Arabic lines can land in the wrong order.
